This beautiful trail saddle was basically designed by its owner, Sheri Guillet of Flagstaff, Arizona. The tree was designed by one of our tree builders to follow the basic lines of a picture she provided and the ground seat was designed to match that pattern, however, we added the inlaid seat.

We personalized the saddle for her by carving her initials in the cantle. Sheri wanted very little tooling but wanted it to look pretty. We chose the "Wild Texas Rose" to accommodate her wishes for simplicity and good looks. The leather is Wickett and Craig Drum dyed chestnut and will always carry the ruddy red color. In order to keep the saddle in a light weight category we built it using a deep drop in skirt rigging using antique style round skirts. This not only gives her a lot of swing in the stirrups but cuts several pounds from the weight. The deep drop rigging provides a lot of wrap on the barrel of the horse. This provides a lot of side to side stability as well as allowing the rider to ride with considerably less tightened girth, affording more comfort to the horse.

Real sheep skin is standard with all Jerry Shaw Custom Saddles.

As with all our saddles, rear billets and a flank cinch were provided but, at the buyer's request, were left unattached.
